Re: CT Engine Restoration
Although I do not have the torque figures for the CT, I suspect 'Camperfan' may be confusing the flywheel bolt torque (253 lbs/ft in my book for the earlier Aircooled engines) with t'other end of the crankshaft. :D Bolt is right hand thread.(i.e anticlockwise to remove) IIRC Half inch (or threequart...

Re: New camper problems.
I took the solenoid apart and energised it and it worked well pulling the starter gear out. Cleaned up the connections got it back on the engine and no difference, not yippee. So that ones got me for now guess it a problem on the starter. One way to check the starter is to connect from the ring term...

All part of the service chaps........... but must I hold my hand up and admit that the original photo was not one I took, but was saved from an earlier thread in case it could be of use to someone in the future. Re: Petrol Tank Leak ?? Help please
sabcully, Mine tends to have a wiff of petrol when tank is brim full, but has been up and down to South West France many times like that. Just don't fill the tank above about 3/4, and carry a spare can full (But not on the ferry!). Don't let it spoil your trip, fix it when you come back. (You are ne...

Re: T25 Big help needed pleaseeeeeeee!!!!!!!
Tattoomaster, You may get some clues from the wiring colour codes. The sender that controls the temperature gauge is normally connected to a Yellow/Red wire and a brown earth wire. The sender that signals the fuel injection normally has a white wire (and a brown/blue earth wire) The oil pressure swi...

Here is a good list from Martin 'Red Westie' :ok well I'll give you a list: Poor earth points (everything should be free from corrosion, tight and in good condition) Loose battery terminals (check the obvious first) Poor solenoid feed /corroded terminal (pull off the spade connector to check and cle...

Re: Have you seen my knob?
Several years ago I replaced the missing ones on my Electrolux 212F with new Electrolux knobs, but they were very flimsy and broke again almost immediately. Went to B&Q, got a couple of wooden cupboard knobs and fettled them to fit. Marked the index points on them with a little groove and a line...
