Re: Can anyone recognise this seat part please?
Found it! These are called leg springs, but heaven knows why….. They go from the inside of the seat rail, through a tiny gap under the rail. The rail needs to be loose to get them in place. On the inside of the rail, the hooked end springs against the seat position adjuster bar, keeping it locke...

Re: Can anyone recognise this seat part please?
Hi, Seat is back together, and spring is in place, but I can’t see how these two parts fit, and can’t see what they do. Any ideas anyone please? I don’t want to fit the seat to find it comes apart…..

Re: Standard seat back removal
Quick update - Got passenger seat out with a rubber mallet. Boy was it gummed up!! Found the smaller Allen keys under the runners, pulled the long spring out, and separated the seat base from the back. It seems that the job can’t be done unless the seats are removed. Having bent back the retaining s...

Can anyone recognise this seat part please?

Two of these parts fell out when I removed the seat cover from a standard passenger seat with headrest. Can anyone tell me what they are for, or how they fit please? Many thanks.
Sorry, the picture looks very large, and I don’t know how to reduce it.

Re: Standard seat back removal
Thanks Rik, I will give the spring more force. I was worried that it would break. If anyone knows where the other smaller Allen key bolts are, I would be grateful. As mentioned, sadly I can’t seem to get the seats to slide anywhere near forward enough to get them out. In fact, trying to do so, I t...

Standard seat back removal
Hi, I know this has been covered before, but I need to replace the foam in both the backrests of our standard 1986 seats, which have head rests but no arm rests. At the same time, I would like to wash the base and backrest covers, and thoroughly clean the seat runners and mechanisms, as the seats ar...

Installing a CD or deeper stereo in dash
Hi, Being probably very old fashioned, I wanted to install a radio CD player in our van. However, the space behind the din cutout in the dash was insufficient. I found an extremely reasonably priced compact player that includes a radio, CD and even a DVD player on Amazon.fr, and it was still a litt...

Switched 12v feed
Hi, I am trying to wire in a TomTom cradle and a dash cam, as I am keen to avoid dangly cables across the dash. Someone has removed the small 12v supply point from the dash. Is there an easy point I can pick up a switched 12v supply please in the dash/ fuse box area?
