Damn it, didn't find that one in the search, for some reason. Cheers.
Guess I just need to order some shims with the belt.
Thanks.

Help confirming correct belt length - 1.6CS
Hi, Sorry for the basic question but this has been baking my head all afternoon. Current belts are as below: A - 6283MC - which I believe is a Gates belt (thanks to the always helpful Brickwerks team), and thus 10x638 - so, wrong. B - 10 x 625 currently - pretty slack (well over the 5mm spec) but no...

Re: Stainless steel coolant pipe brackets
Sorry to resurrect a massively old thread - but does anyone have a diagram that shows where the hangers / brackets should be, and how many? My pipes are just cable tied together and hanging loose, which is obviously a terrible idea. There are some brackets on eBay, but I have no idea where the thing...

Re: No reverse gear - missing something obvious I’m sure
Thanks, moved it back one spline and that seems to have sorted it. Surprising how sensitive the big ugly lump is. Cheers.

No reverse gear - missing something obvious I’m sure
Hi, Just to check I am not missing something obvious to brighter minds… I’ve just rebuilt the rear gear selector with new cup etc, and the gears were ok, although second / third seemed a little off. So I adjusted the splines so that the forks sit tidy as per the wiki. All the gears seem to slide int...

Re: Diesel engine vibration - excessive or design feature?
Many thanks, the sound is similar to that clip so perhaps I just need to focus on reducing the movement. Engine mounts are an easy enough option to try before starting to look at injectors, especially as I have a lot to learn in that area. I know the engine was rebuilt at some point, so it’s hard to...

Was thinking the same.
Will do on Wednesday when back at home, either for reassurance or “you’re doomed” feedback.

Diesel engine vibration - excessive or design feature?
I can feel the jokes coming already. I have a noisy diesel engine... please be gentle. Engine is 1.6D n/a. I live somewhere flat, so this complete lack of anything resembling power isn't much of an issue. The engine starts, runs and pulls fine, but on start / idle, there is a fair bit of vibration /...

Re: Exhaust Downpipe Bolts
Sorry for the resuscitation of a long dead thread, but did you solve this? My downpipe is held on by three different looking bolts, one of which is a hex, and a very wonky looking stud. No idea which is the right one?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Rock and Roll Bed with Caravelle Cushions
The prices of the Multivan rear seat/bed must have increased considerably, I purchased one complete with the correct fixing brackets and kickboard from VWT25 vanspares for £265 back in Jan 2021. Was that the FB group? I've returned to FB after many years and am lurking in some of the groups. I do t...

Re: Rock and Roll Bed with Caravelle Cushions
Thanks all for the replies - I think I'll dump the mid-seat conversion idea and work on finding the OG Caravelle bed. I've got welding to do for the MOT first, so I should really focus on that anyway.
Many thanks all for taking the time.

Re: Rock and Roll Bed with Caravelle Cushions
https://i.imgur.com/dzHDw4G.jpg Don't judge the awful state of the van, lots of work to do still... These are the seats I have, I was thinking of taking them apart and fixing the foam cushions to a full width R&R bed, but I am not sure it would work on further inspection. I think the best optio...

Re: Rock and Roll Bed with Caravelle Cushions
Not a bad shout, the front seats need recovering anyway so it could all be matched in and look OEM-ish. Will have a look, cheers.

Rock and Roll Bed with Caravelle Cushions
I have a feeling this may be a stupid question. The caravelle I am working on has no rear seat, I have the middle seats but not the back ones. I am looking to put an R&R bed in, and to remove the middle seats for a day van / occasional overnight camper conversion. The van needs a complete intern...
