Thanks Steve, just as well I couldn't get any lift on them then. :D

CU engine, how many mountings?

Howdy folks, am doing a pre-MOT check on the van.

Looked in the Wiki, but nothing in there.

Can someone enlighten me as to how many engine mountings there are on the 2ltr A/C CU engine, and their locations please, I can see 2 at the engine bearer bar?

Thank you.

Tex, I have one in my westy, in North Shields, so not that far if you want to measure this one.. Thanks for that 'Big Tam', If I may be so bold, could you send me a picture via email with the basic measurements? I can remember how it all went together. It's 76 miles (according to AA route planner) ...

Replica bog box plan needed please.

A while ago during my 'chuck out the chipboard' phase, I threw out the bogbox - but I kept the cushions and frame etc - now as I am going to sell the van I need to replace the box. Can someone kindly put a picture and dimensions on here for me to copy from?

Thank you

Try and change your ferry for one that night when you get there, you can then stay in the huge Calais 'sans billets' parking area.

It's a little noisy, very safe, free and you'll get a head start the next morning.

You'll find lots of people doing the same.

Some new stainless steel hose clips wouldn't go amiss...especially underneath van.

Thanks for the ideas.....Wendy - yeah, might go with that; Flower Power - like to let the draught in on these hot, sunny days that we haven't been having up here!!!! John See, if you had a 3 speed extractor fan in your roof, you'd be able to kip with a nice pleasent breeze flowing through your van ...

Do what the French do, p*ss at the side of the road, in full view preferably, and cr8p in the lay-byes.

You'll know which ones by the smell and the various types of paper littering the place....not pleasant for pic-nics.

I had a similar problem in the South of France. The only difference was mine didn't get worse over time...it went instantly. Seconds before the problem there was a loud whirring noise on tick over, which stopped abruptly. After that I could not engage any gear whilst the engine was running. By forci...

If you have a Devon conversion be aware of the roof strengthening bars imbedded in the fibreglass (square box section actually) if you intend making the roof hole bigger.

Got a 3 speed omnistor suck or blow 10" in place of roof vent, can be left on all night, pick your own speed. Sucks or blows cool air in and hot air out.

I modified my top external vent to take 2 X 12v fans, they operate on a device that allow the fans to vary their speed from off, slow, through to fast as and when required, Where did you get this device. You can run it off a 12v battery on your test bench, If you are in any doubt just connect a battery charger at the same time...that's the way I check mine when doing a fridge service, it only takes a couple of hours or so to check that the temperature is going down.
