Re: Radiator fan is it two speed?

Quick update thanks to your help guys I diagnosed the problem to a bad fan motor, motor now changed and two speeds now working fine. I had bought a fan from brickwerks this week but needed to confirm a few things, by the way the motor from brickwerks has smaller fan blades about 20mm shorter so I sw...

Re: Radiator fan is it two speed?

I'll try and get a picture tomorrow but the only way i could see how it could be two speed is if there was some sort of resistor but at the current that this motor draws it would need to be quite a resistor. brickwerks only have one fan motor listed for the diesel with just two terminals ground and ...

Radiator fan is it two speed?

I was checking out the cooling fan on my '89 1.6 TD as it sounds really noisy when it does turn on, the radiator switch has 3 terminals live, and apparently speed 1 and 2, the 2 wires from the switch red/black and red/blue both join to one terminal on the fan the other terminal  on the fan is ground...

Re: TD sound proofing metal work remove it or leave it?

That is true but was it needed for just sound proofing or did it aid cooling too or not?

Re: TD sound proofing metal work remove it or leave it?

Thanks for the replies, I might leave it off for a while and see how it effects engine temperature. I've got a trip down though france soon I'm sure i'll need all the cooling I can get.

TD sound proofing metal work remove it or leave it?

I recently removed the under engine metalwork with the sound deadening material to do some work on the engine, its seems to not make a great difference to the engine noise and was wondering if it would be better to leave it off in respect of engine cooling especially in this hot weather, could alway...

Re: Oil pressure switch jx diesel

Thanks guys, I didn't know there was so much to it, I have a recon engine so that doesn't help and only one switch is connected the filter one so think I'll go with blue, thanks again.

Oil pressure switch jx diesel

Hi guys, the oil pressure switch on my jx td has failed it's a brown switch which seems to be incorrect for that engine as the only ones on the Brickwerks site doesn't include a brown one, seems i need a normally closed one but which colour/pressure?
Any ideas please
