Where are people buying Rustoleum from nowadays? when I bought my last lot it was in 2009 and was from combicolor.co.uk which doesnt seem to exist any more.

2.0 Aircooled flexi pipe exchanger to central alternative?

Anyone know what and who can supply decent alternatives for parts 6 and 7 on here? Pipe 7 on my bus is wrecked (age/weather and heat) but I'm not sure what folks are using as alternatives nowadays...

Re: 2.0 CU timing /running issue

sounds like either the dizzy has been moved round 180* on it's shaft (common thing esp. after rebuilds) or the vac isnt working on the dizzy - have you checked all the vac hoses are connected to the right places, there are a few of them on a std setup ;)

Re: 2.0 Aircooled cylinder head

you 'can' do this with the engine in situ however it's a real pain in the jacksy.. you have to bend tinware and fight with the tinware seal etc... dropping the engine is the easiest way if you have the means todo so. I've just done this on my bus for cylinders 1-2.. that said I've managed to do most...

Re: From CT to CJ Engine

5 grand?!  BLIMEY! you can get a recon elite engine for around 2K!

What exactly is up with the existing lump? the CT engine is very similar to a beetle/bay engine so the common spares are cheap and plentiful (heads/barrels/pistons etc)

Yes - most people seem very vocal about carbs and many have specific opinions about them

Re: errrrrr...... I broked it ...........

Yes you can get them from anyone who sells t25 bits pretty much (Brickwerks, JK, AH Schofields, VW Heritage etc etc)- you might have some fun getting the drum off and also the old outer in the back plate tends to fuse itself in pretty well too!

If your going to do this job then do it right - sills are a massive job to change ...there is emptying the van of furniture/fittings etc, flooring not to mention a paint job after!

Re: Isle of Wight

Cant think where that is at the mo but if its no good then there are loads of other camp sites here all over the Island. Whitecliff Bay is good, really nice beach, nice pitches over looking Bembridge airport, great sunsets - they are only tiny planes! very much agreed - I've been back to whitecliff...
