Souds like something needs adjusting. I get 21 to 22 mpg on gas
T252.1 GLI Caravelle on a manual 4 speed box. 17mpg pulling a 900kg Caravan

Works out at equivalent of 55 mpg against Dzl and 44 against petrol so its still good value.

as of Yesterday on the A1 BP 49.9, Shell 47.9 Morrisons 37.9 Sainsburries J22 M25, 72.9 and the same price I think on J10 of the M25 A3 intersection I asked Shell why thir price was so high. Over the last 2 years I have usualy got between 20 and 22.5 mpg. on LPG
The van is a 2.1 gli caravelle manual gbox tintop kitted out as a camper.

Pulling our 900kg caravan I get ~17 mpg on LPG

Steve fitted an open loop system and its been perfect.

I fitted a new fuel pump last week to my 2.1 gli Caravelle. Drove about 6 miles parked up, went to the bank, back to the van, then had difficulty starting it. I fitted the pump and filter on Friday and it works well. The only difference I can see is that the old one had spade terminals the new one has screw terminals for 4m and 5m ring connectors. So - to all the VW spares suppliers who said that the pumps are as rare as hens teeth. Just try phoning Bosch...

Fuel pump noise

I sorted my one out by re-mounting the pump with a foam pad between it and the chassis. The original mount had broken and the pump was touching the body creating a loud and verry irritating buz. I used a long strap to hoild it all in place. Now I can hardly hear it.
