hi thanks for the replies ill wait until it needs an oil change then as the oil filter has to come off to get to the nut its not losing a lot of oil glad to have it back on the road just got a new mot on her off to vw action next weekend

yeah can see it weeping when running and everything else has been changed oil cooler seals oil filter housing gasket rear main seal distributor seal all done

slight oil leak from case bolt
got a slight oil leak from case bolt on 2.0 cu type 4 engine its a 13mm nut just behind the oil filter how can i fix the leak would i be ok to undo the nut and put some sealant under the washer

hello sarran1955 thanks for your speedy reply decided to clean the bottom of the engine at the weekend also will clean the goop off manifolds and put some new nuts on there too will post some pictures of the head with rocker box off it looks like old oil as i have got fresh oil in there i have fixed...

i did have a leak there but fixed it i'm leaning towards it being residue from previous leaks its too dark to be new oil might get under there with a steam cleaner at the weekend see if it goes away

can some one help please ive had flywheel seal done oil cooler seals done push rod tubes done and now ive found this leak seams to be all over cylinder 3 and 4 is there anything above there that could be leaking or is it the cylinders themselves is on a 2.0 cu type 4 engine http://i1184.photobucket....

wheres the best place to buy a rear main seal and flywheel o ring for my 2.0 cu type 4 engine and do i need to check end float.
