Re: Water Jacket seals leaking - Engine out?
Thanks. Trouble with a second hand engine is we feel that - as with a recon - we wouldn't be sure what we were getting. Also we might end up having to pay someone to fit it as time is so scarce. This place in Suffolk will replace all gaskets and oil seals, replace oil pump and remove, clean and re-g...

Re: Water Jacket seals leaking - Engine out?
Thank you - I'm just confused in my terminology, and wasn't sure if they were one and the same thing. We do only need a rebuild unless there's something major we're missing. Pissing coolant aside, he runs beautifully.

I suspected as much. We will travel if we need to. Don't suppose you know anything about this place?: http://www.suffolkcampervanhire.co.uk/maintenance.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Unidentified object in cooling hose
Thanks for these responses. We've since discovered we have much bigger problems than we'd hoped - leaking water jacket seals. Now looking at a full engine overhaul. Ug.

Re: Water Jacket seals leaking - Engine out?
Thanks very much for these responses. We've decided we will need to get this done for us as unfortunately we can't realistically find the time, and while we're spending the money we think we might as well get the engine fully reconditioned. I've posted separately for advice on where we might get thi...

Engine rebuild - recommendations in Bucks/Oxon?
Following a couple of other posts from us earlier today, we have decided we need an engine rebuild, and regretably - with 2 children under 3 and a trip planned for June - we aren't able to find the time to do it ourselves, and neither do we have the required space. Can anyone recommend anyone in the...

Water Jacket seals leaking - Engine out?
Dear All, We've got a 1984 T25 with 1.9 watercooled engine and four speed 'box. Not had it long, not had to do any real mechanical delving so far. It's leaking coolant... I posted yesterday having found a foreign object inside a problem hose. We were pinning responsibility for the leak on that hose ...

Cracks (?) in hi-top
Hello, I wonder if anyone might be able to help? We have these slightly worrying looking spiderweb-like cracks appearing in our hi-top (pictured). Is this normal? Any idea what we should do about it? Thanks in advance. http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af13/Tabwela/218dbba9-7646-4e78-a8b1-37ff01845...

Unidentified object in cooling hose
Wise members of the technical forum, I stand before you befuddled by a glitch in our cooling system. I changed the coolant fairly recently, and soon after that Noticed a slow leak emptying our top up coolant reservoir even when the engine is not running, causing me to top it up at every use - Drips ...

Re: Small rust bubbles / cracks in seams
Thank you, that's very reassuring! If we did want to do something about the seam what would you (or anyone else) recommend? Is there a risk it will rust if we leave it? And when we do come to deal with the rust bubbles on the driver's door, is there any way of telling whether it's 2pack or cellulose...

Small rust bubbles / cracks in seams
Hello, I'm new here and since May my family and I have been the proud owners of a 1984 T25 Westcountry high-top. We are about to put it under cover for the winter but have just noticed a couple of issues we're inclined to address before doing so: the first is a tiny crack in the paint down one of th...
