Re: 2.1dj Inj Auto - rough running after re-assembly
Cheers folks, appreciate all the advice. I'll start the hunt for air leaks although it might have to wait for the weekend again. Interestingly I drove it around it around the block last night and when I pulled back up and left it at idle my fuel pressure was around 1.8psi (which has gone down from w...

Re: 2.1dj Inj Auto - rough running after re-assembly
Hiya, and thanks guys. I did disconnect the vacuum pipes and blocked them whilst I set the timing - wasn't sure if that was totally correct? I've seen differing opinions? I'll recheck the timing again. I've not had several hours of running out of mine yet, I didn't want to keep running it as I was w...

2.1dj Inj Auto - rough running after re-assembly
Hi folks, I'm looking for some advice or someone local to Loughborough to take a look at my van please. Its the 2.1 fuel injected automatic. Having put the engine back together, its running a little lumpy, from the exhaust note it almost sounds a bit poppy, like its not running cleanly on all cylind...

Re: 2.1dj crankshaft end float advice please
Great idea, but I think I'll just take out the existing engine though, it will encourage me to get it done faster :D I can't seem to add photos, might need to talk to admin. I'm going to hold onto the flywheel for a little while incase I do go manual at any point. But if I do go crazy and start to h...

Re: 2.1dj crankshaft end float advice please
Thanks for confirming, I'm following the Haynes but then I had a little think about what I was actually measuring. I'd hate to get this far and then make the crank too tight or too loose. It's the availability of advice from people like yourself that makes it possible for people to have a go, so tha...

2.1dj crankshaft end float advice please
I'm rebuilding a 2.1dj (my first rebuild) and have measured the crank shaft end float, with the flywheel on as the Haynes suggests. So I know what shims to buy. However my rebuild engine came from a van with a manual gearbox, hence the flywheel, but it will replace the engine currently in my van and...

What Crankcase sealant - 2.1dj rebuild
Hi folks, I'm doing my first engine rebuild, its a 2.1 DJ. Just wondering what folks use to seal the two crankcase halves together? I'm not planning to make a habit of this, so although I want to make sure its done properly I'm not looking to buy a bucket of the stuff.
Much appreciated,
Mark
