Re: Gutter sealant and high top trim

Could you tell us which seal you ordered from Seals Direct? I would like to change the ones on my Komet which presumably will be the same as those on the Karisma.

Re: petrol pump problems

I replaced all the fuel lines soon after I got the van about 3 years ago. I left those filters in the system as I assumed they should be there - now I know better.
Re the non return valve, I was thinking this might reduce the time spent cranking the engine when it's not been used for some time.

Re: petrol pump problems

That worries me - mine has 3 plastic fuel filters, 2 of which are in the engine bay! In addition to the one under the van by the petrol tank, there is one next to the carb before the fuel pump and one in the return pipe from the carb. So next job on the list is to put a metal non return valve in pla...

Re: Sink drains onto ground ?

The waste water pipe on my Komet comes out in a similar position to the above pictures but on the near side.
I use an empty 5ltr de-ionised water container to collect the waste water.

Re: Autohomes Hightop edging strip

I asked the same question last year. Someone replied that they had obtained some J strip off ebay that they cut down but could not find the supplier again. I looked for other suppliers last year but could not find anything suitable as everything that is white seems to be textured or not flexible, so...

Re: Climate control, well, controlling the interior temperature!

There were cars with temperature control in the 80s, albeit at a price! My Porsche 944 has it - there is a vent in the dashboard that constantly takes in air and measures the temperature and adjusts the heater to maintain whatever temperature you have selected. Works very well. As an aside, my 944 w...

Similar thing happened to me earlier this year in the Peak District.
It turned out to be a seized caliper.

Re: Attaching an awning to a Komet

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'll try the figure of eight first. If I'm not happy with that I'll get some kador strip and try that. If all else fails I can always change the awning rail.

Attaching an awning to a Komet

Our recently purchased Komet came with an awning, but I am unsure how it attaches to the van. I have read the awning FAQs but need a bit more help please. The awning has a bead along the top side and also some pockets for a pole to go through. The gutters on the van have the base of the high top in ...

Re: Another temperature gauge not working

Had another look this afternoon and sure enough there's another sender at the back with a yellow wire going to it. It couldn't be in a much more inaccessible place! When I took the plug out the yellow wire came away - it was totally corroded. I cleaned the wires and shorted them together and the gau...

Re: Another temperature gauge not working

Thanks for the replies. The blue sender was the only one I could see. It is on the thermostat housing at the back left of the engine looking from the rear and points towards the left side of the vehicle. I cannot remember the colour of the wire but I don't think it had any yellow so it looks like I ...
