Backdoor top hinge mounting dropped
Hi there,
Anybody had to replace/fix or have the back door top hinge mounts welded back in ??? rear door dropped and found big cracks around hinge mounting points ?
thinking it will be a complete strip back job but not done this before..... all advices welcome..... cheers

Thanks to everyone that helped out with there advice's and experiences , had quite a learning curve, and found and fixed a few other issues on the way , im ready for the summer now..... next job, barring anything new!....body work,

now fitted my original starter, after refurb, and starts on the button every time......refurb, was new solenoid, cleaned brushes, had already put ob all nice new connectors. but my van is now 100%

copied this over from other link, might be useful, got my old starter refurbed to find out what was going wrong, and it was a cooked solenoid. my new one is still on the van but will be coming off soon ! original starter motors refurbed cab be better than the cheap pattern parts.... if you got hot w...

got my old starter refurbed to find out what was going wrong, and it was a cooked solenoid. my new one is still on the van but will be coming off soon ! original starter motors refurbed cab be better than the cheap pattern parts.... if you got hot wires, either solenoid is shot or wired it backwards...

I've not been there yet , but apparently in Ipswich , not so far from me there is a place that does full recondition of starter motor, so will get my old one fully reconded.. I think that will also be better than the new one in there now! Welding patch to trailing arm, so hoping to get van back on F...

hi ya, yeah ! these littlest of things, Shes running enough to have MOT done now ! , but going to need a patch of welding to seal up rear trailing arm, so shes not back until next friday... baring in mind your last tip !! always gladly accepted :) is it possible that the new bush in the bell-housing...

Shes now starting......
even though not perfect with a slow turn over..... still need to get leads (battery/ignitor) fully replaced but its going .... again new connectors and even more work on the earths....

i have had quite a few electrical probs with brake lights etc, but a lot of them were fixed when cleaning up, replacing where needed the earth connector on the side of the body under dash behind fuse box. many terminations there...

well could not find my volt meter.... so changed battery to known fully charged battery ( almost new ) and looked good on load tester. attached second earth cable from braided lug on starter motor to chassis all with clean terminals, and cleaned sand back and checked gearbox earth strap reattached. ...
