Hi thanks for all the advice. I recrimped the exciter cable connection and the spade terminal connection and the problem is solved.

Alternator exciter cable voltage
Hi could anyone confirm the required voltage on the blue exciter cable. I have around 4.5 volts at present. The battery warning light stays on and the alternator is not charging. I assume it should be around 12v. If this is the case I am assuming a high resisistance somewhere in the charging circuit...

1.6 td headlight relay query
Hi, I have a T25 1.6td Westfalia, can anyone please help? I am trying to identify which relay is for the headlights as I only have the side lights and full beam when I hold in the indicator stick. I have seen this is quite a common problem and have checked fuses and earth points etc. I did a search ...
