Thats brilliant...thanks for your help :) The screen is being replaced by autoglass who can't get hold of a another strip but had planned to reuse the seal thats there already saying it wasnt needed anyway, so your feedback has been very informative :)...excuse my ignorance but am I right in thinkin...

Need to replace my shattered windscreen, does anyone know if the strip that sits in the seal has a function, or is it just decorative?

My local garage have told me my van has a leaking gasket on the automatic gear box, and that it will also need pressure washing underneath, which they cant do. Does anyone know of an affordable garage in the Peterborough area that does this kind of work? fingers crossed
