My westy is later than yours, the colour is the same red as the rest of the van but it is in the jell coat of the roof, its not painted. Sounds like something is bent. Have you looked at any other t25 doors on other vans to check this out.

If your local place wont touch something as simple as a t25 or as they put it engine at wrong end, then they should not be trusted to change a wiper blade.
As far as the manifold is concerned it is not a difficult job, for any good mechanic

Could be lots of things unfortunately
I would start at back and work forwards looking for a loose connection or intermitant fault on wiring
Check the lamp units, gearbox switch, fuse box, earthing points and all circuit connections

I would clean the old servo out, after repairing the master cylinder and test it and see how you get on. As it sounds like the servo is still working ,just suffering from reduced capasity

make sure its not the clutch release bearing before you spend lots of money

There is a nice place at Small Dole. Lots of hook ups and there are showers but they are basic. Very near a small country park .As far as i can remember its quite cheap for the south coast
