There is a lot of play on the gearbox input shaft

Off centre rubbing mark on clutch plate cover

Brilliant thanks i will order a new spigot bearing and seal. There is loads of play in the gearbox input shaft and there is a wear/rubbing mark on the outside of the clutch plate cover.
How do you upload pics on to this forum?

I have just removed my gearbox due to a grinding noise when the clutch was depressed, i have found that there is a lot of play in the gearbox input shaft, How hard is it to replace the spigot bearing? Is there any drawing of the gear box? Is there a stockiest of gearbox spare parts bearing seals etc...

I decide to change the gearbox oil myself, The oil was very dirty but there was not as much metal filings on the drain plug as i was expecting. If the gearbox needs replacing/reconditioning how hard would it be to fit a 5 Speed box? I have a Westfalia 1983 left hand drive 4 speed.
