T25 side door roller mech?

Help. My side door on my 1989 T25 jammed open last week and when i gave it a tug, the whole thing fell off. Managed to get it back on and locked but the rear roller mechanism (with bearings) is snapped. JustKampers don't supply them and both Volks Heaven and Syncro Spares breakers don't have any use...

Thanks, I'd appreciate that. I picked them up at the Wales VW Fest last summer and they came off a T25; owner upgraded to some well smart Merc alloys. I'll post up the ET when I check my spare wheel, tonight. I'm aware of the difference between spacers, long studs and bolts, having checked some of t...

I wondered the same thing. Its not a choke - the lever just advances the ignition to help start on cold days. I was using mine after one of my glow plugs died, wondering why it was smoking so much at start-up. Fitted a set of new glow plugs and didn't need it again for 12 months; started first click...

Audi Ronals on my T25

Hi all, Purchased some old Audi Ronals alloy wheels for my 1989 T25. It's currently running the standard 185/R14 steel wheels. The fella I bought them off is a genuine type, who surfs with me now and then, but failed to mention the spacers/long studs required for fitting. Later recommended Steve at ...

My F plate '89 T25 is a 1600cc desiel and to be honest its a little underpowered. It takes time to pick up speed and cruises at 55mph. I've only ever pushed it to 65mph but on motorway inclines it alarmingly slows to 30-40mph. Well dodgy :( I drive it 20 miles a day on the work commute and get betwe...

Cheers for all the advice guys. Than van failed to start twice last week, after it was resurected by fitting 2 new glow plugs - the ones that could be easily accessed towards front of van. Loads of power in the battery but it wouldn't fire in the cold mornings, then upon start-up later in the day (s...

Glow plugs - T25 Vanagon 1989 diesel 1600cc

Hi guys, Had some starting problems last winter that were resolved by the local garage fitting a new set of Lucas glow plugs at £7 each. Had a repeat this week - stuttered for a few days then wouldn't start. Bought 4 new Lucas plugs again with a view to fitting them today. Only managed the top 2, ne...

Hi mate

I had similar problems last winter with my 1989 T25 1600cc deisel. I had oil leaks in the engine and gearbox. Local gargae dropped THE engine and fitted new gaskets - high cost on labour but the gaskets themselves were cheap from VW (£20 I think). Mine always smokes when its cold but its done 220,00...

My van almost always had to have the starter handle pulled all the way out to get it started - 1600cc 1989 T25 - lots of smoke. Got worse then failed to start. £100 full service by a local mobile mechanic, followed by 4 new hot plugs (£8 each; 3 were defective) and its been great ever since. Starts ...

It think its water - I've not tasted it, but it has no smell to it and the road dries not leaving any stain.

Would there be any other pipe under the drivers side wheel arch that may leak?

This has happened twice to me in the last 6 months. Initailly, just a week after my having bought the T25. I was puzzled as the lower water reserviour (by the rear number plate) was full - hadn't realised there was a second, top water tank (next to my battery). Cleaned the sensor on the top unit and...

T25 Water leak under front drivers door

Guys, I'm a little mystified by a leak that I've noticed on the drivers side, front of my Aztec camper. Its a 1600 desiel F plate '89. Noticed water just seems to accumulate at the lowest edge of the wheel rim and drip constantly after a wet spell. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h116/mark_evans/D...
