From what I've been reading on here, it's meant to be about 280 odd RHD single cab syncros. That includes petrol, diesel and Syncro 16s.

Yes they are rarer than the average Syncro but they are still around so don't pay excessively over the going rate for a Syncro.

With your van being an Auto, you are very limited to what engine you can replace your ill 2.1 with. The auto only came with a 1.9 or 2.1 petrol engines and as the gearbox is a very different unit to the manual gearbox, you can't use the VW Audi 5 cylinder bellhousing. Believe it or not, the cheapest...

Going on my other half's conversion where he put a 2.5 TDi into his Syncro Crewcab. He had problems because of gearing. The engine was revving too high for sensible motorway driving speed and mpg suffered as a result. Going on posts on Brickyard from him, if you don't change the gearing to match the...

Gotta be worth 2K minimum in that condition, maybe 2.5-3K if very nice with no rust going on current prices for TD Syncro Single Cabs. Don't let it go cheap whatever you do. VW only made 280 odd RHD Single Cab Syncros including petrols so TDs are more valuable. Sorry if my views seem strong, just an...

Oh and no you can't damage the wheel bearing by tightening the nut but you can by not having it tight enough!

Sealed air filters

My other half is trying to organise a group buy of K&N Sealed air filters for those of you doing an engine transplant on a syncro. If interested follow the link :) http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/resources/images/zoom/K_NAPPOLLO.jpg http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=10947&P...

It is possible to put the top arms on upside down and it will make the van pull heavily to one side. The driveshaft will be almost against if not rubbing on the shocker but it will be very obvious just by looking if this is the case.

It comes off the main vacuum supply to your servo. There is a T-piece inline along with a one way valve. :)

Topic: how much wheel bolt thread
Replies: 10

A good rule of thumb for all bolts and nuts is to have 1 1/2 times the length of thread, of the diameter of the thread. So if you have an M14 bolt or stud, then you would ideally want 21mm worth of threads. If you look at the pitch of the bolt/stud, (I think they're M14X1.5) then divide 21mm by 1.5 ...
