Re: cupboard

Thanks for the response.

I am coming to the conclusion that I am going to need to include a bit more thicker ply panels than I originally thought. But I do not want any fibre/chip board in the van.

Cheers

cupboard

Cupboard I have a homebrew campervan. It used to be a DiamondRV high top with a shower cubical (!?!), but all the internal furnishings were all swollen and peeling chipboard crap, so I ripped it all out, cooker, fridge, sink, water tanks, and all - none of which have made it back in as I wanted a mu...

Re: lack of power failing under load

Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue?

Assuming the move went well.

Re: lack of power failing under load

All three of us thought we had fuel tank issues, but with us all it was just hoses and breather pipes. We all put the same tanks back again. All my breather pipes were crumbling to dust. My brother had a broken plastic fitting on the top of the tank. My mate Rod had an issue with his filler neck. Al...

Re: lack of power failing under load

Whats your fuel tank beathers like? Does you smell fuel if you fill her right up to the top? Have you driven through any deep puddles recently? You could have water in the fuel? Water will sink to the bottom of the tank, if you were running low on fuel when it all started to go wrong, you might have...

Re: lack of power failing under load

Glad you got yourself recovered. I should not have stopped in front of that blokes driveway on Marlborough Road when I was being nosey that morning - he was not very happy to have two old campers opposite his gaff! I had noticed you and your camper have not been on your usual route to work in the mo...

Re: Excessive brake pedal travel

I will get some brake fluid today and try a bleed through tonight if the rain stays off. I am close by in the 'much maligned' Swindon Town. I jumped in the cab this morning and press the brake pedal and it was rock solid, after being left all night. However I had not started the engine. Which was od...

Excessive brake pedal travel

High all, Just done a replacement of the front brake discs, new bearings and new pads as the old discs were heavily grooved/pitted/rusty and excessively noisey. The brakes used to operate okay, with no pulling etc. But obviously not as efficient as they could be. 1984 camper - 1.9 petrol water coole...

Re: CV Joint dilema

I ended up popping to my local gsf and got four GKN kits - I can always return them if not needed. But I will probably fit them all anyway. Not BW prices but still £40 a pop inc VAT. When I go under the van for this sort of stuff I really do not want to be doing it twice. Its now my daily driver. Go...

CV Joint dilema

My van - 1984 1.9 waterboxer campervan conversion - seems to be exhibiting the classic duff CV Joint issues. Loud 'gurning' noises from the rear when doing a long/steep climb at speed - normally on dual carriage ways or motorways. Not all the time, but enough times to be of concern, and enough times...

Re: Reverse Light Wiring

Last night I was doing some pre MOT checks only to find my reverse light not working I was not able to locate my Haynes manual last night and did not have the time to investigate further. Hopefully I will get a half an hour at lunch to go down to the rear light cluster with a multi-meter for an init...

Re: My new Diamond RV in Bakerloo Brown !

Blimey that brings back memories of last winter messing around with my DiamondRV. Currently mine is in a usable state and now work has stopped....We are stealing ourselves for the MOT next month.....I am also poised for a rustoleum paint job. See the wheel post. Once the MOT is behind us we will tak...
