Re: 2.0 CU with Dell 36 - Very fumey!
The only thing I'm struggling to find is 1-inch hose to clamp directly onto the crank outlet on the engine. Then, finding a 1-1/2 inch (25mm to 12mm) reducer seems impossible so I am having to go to 10mm. Therefore, finding a 10mm diameter breather pipe isn't as straightforward either as it all seem...

Re: 2.0 CU with Dell 36 - Very fumey!
Not sure how to connect to air filters - hence my question a few posts up but I've seen others do it and that was how davidoft1 suggested to.
I assume some sort of connecting piece?

Re: 2.0 CU with Dell 36 - Very fumey!
Hi Shepster.
Yes - I bought one of these years ago and never got around to installing it, and has long since been lost.
Are there pro/cons of using one of these rather than drilling straight into air filters?
Assume the kit comes with long enough pipe to go to rocker covers?
Cheers.

Re: 2.0 CU with Dell 36 - Very fumey!
Anyone know what size hose to buy to connect the crank breather to the Dell's plus a T-Piece and the connecting piece for the carb filter itself?
Now need the sizing of the green hose plus Orange connecters'?

Re: 2.0 CU with Dell 36 - Very fumey!
Thanks Rob! And thanks to David who took a look at my very oily aircool engine and suggested quiet a lot of things that need doing and helpfully supplied an engine lid seal that will go a long way to solving the smelly interior. Next steps is to give the engine bay a right good clean. Connect a pipe...

2.0 CU with Dell 36 - Very fumey!
Hi all. Been a while since I've been on here and had any real time to give my 1980 Westy any love (2 kids and a busy life have got in the way!) About 10 years ago I put twin Dellorto 36's on my van which made a hell of a difference but it's always been pretty smelly in the back whch didn't bother me...

Garage / bodywork recommendation West Sussex
Hi all. My 1980 Westy has just failed its MOT needing a shed load of welding :( Thinking it might be time to get a load of bodywork sorted whilst it's under the knife but would prefer a VW specialist to do it. Anyone have any recommendations in the West Sussex / Hampshire area? I'm struggling on Goo...

Dellorto help needed!
Hi all, I've taken the exciting leap into the world of dells. I got some reconned 36s on the bay and bought a box of bits from stateside to make it work. Just after Christmas I had some body work done at vdub resto. As they kind of owed me a favour they agreed to swap the carbs over for me at the sa...

Fitting an accelerator cable
Hi all, The accelerator cable on my van has always been botched since I changed the engine with a chockblock at the engine end and now it has snapped at the pedal end! I have bought a new cable for my LHD Westie (2.0 CU) but have realised that the old cable was just tied onto the spring connecting t...

Engine bolt to gearbox type?
Hi there,
One of the 4 studs on my engine that connects it to the gearbox was missing - do you what bolt I can replace it with? Someone has suggested an M10 bolt?
Cheers. Chris.

Re: Fitting a reccon/2nd hand engine..
Now I have my old engine out i'm not sure whether to sell it as it is or take the head off and see if I can fix whatever the problem is with cylinder. Anyone fixed a piston or ring before? How hard can it be?!

Re: Fitting a reccon/2nd hand engine..
Hi all, Thanks for all your advice - spend the weekend up to my pits in oil but hey presto it's in! Took way longer than we thought - prob about 14 hours in all! Problem was the second hand engine I'd bought didn't come with any tinware and when it had been taken off some of the screws sheered off (...

Porsche Teledials on my T25
Ok so i've read a lot now and as per usual i'm more confused than when I started! I'm about to buy some Porsche Teledials, they have been previously fitted to a 73 bay and they come with coolair pcd adapters & the two sets of bolts. I've read that some Teledials have a problem with the ET. Befor...
