Engine cutting out when slowing down/idling
Hi, wonder if anyone can help before I take my bus to the garage. Just come back from a camping trip to the coast and have had trouble when slowing down for a junction/roundabout etc. If i happen to have the brake pressed at the same time of the clutch even slightly, the engine cuts out. Occasionall...

Re: Dometic Waeco RF60 Fridge
But would it be safe to run on 12v/240v? No poisonous gaseous fumes? (like carbon monoxide!)

Dometic Waeco RF60 Fridge
Hi, been looking at a replacement fridge for the camper and saw this 3-way absorption one on the World Of Camping website: http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/dometic_waeco_rf60_3-way_camping_fridge__97_103_3116 BUT What has confused me was it states "not for installation in motor vehicles or boats...

Oil Buzzer / Leaks
Stupidly I haven't checked my oil in a while (garage said it was dripping from various places). Whilst driving yesterday the engine oil buzzer came on. I pulled over and notice smoke pluming out of the exhaust. Let it cool a while when drove it down the road to the garage (with the odd "lurch&q...

Re: My adventures into Camper electrics (part 1)
Ok, i'm on a roll now :) Radio running off LB (thanks to the quick "male spade connector in 3rd fuse" mod), and internal lights too. Just gotta install a relay that tells the fridge to switch off 12v when engine not running. However, I noticed that the cig lighter only appears to work when...

Re: My adventures into Camper electrics (part 1)
Thanks for that
Steve: the simple mod to connect lights/cig lighter/radio to leisure battery. is it the mod i've seen on these forums/wiki about wiring the back of the 3rd fuse in the main fusebox to the (now not sparking) 2nd fusebox (connected to the LB) ?

Re: My adventures into Camper electrics (part 1)
Sorry, forgot to add. In the first pic there is a black wire with an inline fuse in it. Originally there was just a manual switch, with the red cable (that i presumed was the live so that went into the relay), the black one (which i presumed to be the lights as it was fused) and a thin white cable. ...

Re: My adventures into Camper electrics (part 1)
Hi Steve, its a 1986 1.9L petrol/lpg Kameo(?) Hi-top. I've installed the split charge relay, and have attached a fuse box from the LB via an inline 30amp blade fuse (see pic below), but everytime i connect the LB, sparks fly and the fuse blows :( Its earthed via the top of the fusebox. I took this f...

Re: My adventures into Camper electrics (part 1)
Firstly: thanks for your reply. I think i 've installed the relay correctly, but I don't think i've linked it to the starter battery, i think i've just used the 2nd B+ wire from the alternator and fed that into the relay instead. How would i test this? If there some sort of "testing lamp" ...

My adventures into Camper electrics (part 1)
Hi there folks. Saturday I was all set to install a split charge relay in Elvis (the camper van, not the singer) our 1986 water cooled 1.9 t25. It all looked straight forward; i followed the wiki diagram. I located the thin blue "no charge" wire and scotch blocked it at the back of the ste...

Confusing switch behind leisure battery
Hi, I have just replaced my leisure battery (old one kaput!) and have found a switch behind where the battery sits. The only markings on it are an "S" for one way and a "D" for the other. I'm a bit confused. Should it be on one for split charging, and the other when i'm camped ou...

High Top Replacement Window
Hi, I have a 1986 Komet(i think!) T25 conversion. The previous owner "repaired" one of the high top side windows with sellotape. I was wondering where I would get a replacement pair of windows from. They're not the usual (====) shape (imagine the "equals" signs join with the top ...
