Yeah I rang him thanks, very helpful. Its gonna cost alot more than I expected, best to keep it petrol and go for a subaru conversion I think !

2.1 Auto Petrol to 1.9TDI Manual
Hi all, I'm a noob. Just about to purchase my first T25, its an 89 2.1 Auto Petrol. I want to convert it to a 1.9TDI and need to know what the best options are. Will a 1.9 TDI (from golf mk4 150bhp) fit? Will the 5spd/6spd manual box fit in (from golf mk4)? Or Can I use the petrol auto box wth an ad...
