No worries will let you know, but also getting 2 new front tyres and new rear shoes - looking at around £300ish!

Re: Water Pump

If you can't afford a waterpump you can't afford to run a classic van properly or safely. Blocking the gland leak is http://www.ostrichheadinsand.com/images/ostrich-head-in-sand.jpg Bit harsh....... Clearly I am driving an unsafe van then - not! Like I said temp fix only for now but pay day today :)

Boxy, thanks I will try the one in Southampton :ok

Re: Scraping/Grinding sound from nearside rear wheel

The camper is finally sorted. It turns out the cowboy garage I took it to had dented the rear backplate braying to get the drum off. It had been rubbing on the inside edge of the drum, scoring it down to bear metal. Dent now banged out, no longer rubbing and no more grinding noise. Good to hear that...

Re: Water Pump

I have had a coolant leak for ages and finally got to the bottom of it today after removing the engine tray. On startup coolant is leaking from the bottom of the water pump so looks like more expense :(

They are very expensive so try and fix/repair it first
also have the bearing checked for excessive play.. just to be sure

Ok many thanks. Hopefully it is not the bearing as they changed them all last week with the bearings I bought from Brickwerks.

Re: Scraping/Grinding sound from nearside rear wheel

you might have disturbed the disc cover Thanks - the wheel was making a noise when I collected it, and ended up taking it back as well as to get one of the brake pipes sorted again as it was still leaking. I told the mechanic and he said he would re-adjust the shoes. When I collected it again the b...

Scraping/Grinding sound from nearside rear wheel

Hi all just taken the van out for a long run and I have a scraping/grinding noise coming from nearside rear wheel but only when turning right? There are no sounds when turning left or driving in a straight line. As a bit of background my van was at a garege last week to have the brake lines sorted a...

Quick question for all you fellow 1.7(KY) engine dudes - do you happen to know what size fan belt I need? I have had a look at the one fitted however it is so old all the markings have come off. I have the Bosch 65A alternator - but so many different sizes out there any help would be appreciated :D...
