Re: Upper Balljoint Nut

ball joints will turn with a mucky thread unless the taper is locked into the stub axle. I did see a thread on here some time ago berating the quality of replacement joints so hearsay would indicate best to keep the original unless knocking or perished boot

Re: Expansion Tank?

When this happened on mine it was the head gasket letting by and over pressure in the system, worth having a sniff test done at your local garage for combustion gasses in the coolant

I did find some info via 'Samba' but no diagrams, it may well be obvious when apart but I just thought it would be useful to be pre warned. M...

Re: Fuel gauge sender OHMs

Many thanks Robsey, will send an email to Heritage and see if I get an answer, they wont speak to customers now on phone, as with many companies they are too busy and too important to deal with plebs ( customers)

Re: OE PAS v EPS

The 'Ultimate engineering' conversion that I have on mine has an ABS ring fitted to the gearbox end cv joint which sends pulse to the  orange box, this gives complete and seamless speed regulated variable assistance, cannot fault it in any way :ok

Re: Gearbox Issue

If it drove ok before the engine swap I would suspect a linkage issue due to unsupported gearbox, or maybe collapsed spigot bearing preventing correct clutch operation
