Will it fit on and run first time or will things need adjusting to get any response?

Pump came off a '98 model. It has the electronic cold start timing advance mechanism at the bottom/front... that's about as far as my knowledge extends as I've never disassembled one! I would have just got a pump from a VW 1.6TD or 1.9TD (a lot of 1.9TD '80s in Poland apparently) but they're as rare...

Hi all. I've arrived here after some desperate googling, there seems to be a lot of mTDI knowledge here. I was hoping to hybridise my Audi 80's Bosch VP-37 pump with components from a Peugeot 306's VE pump. Someone had suggested it could be as easy as swapping the tops over in place... fat chance. S...
