Re: 3 way fridge not lighting on gas

Got half way through taking it out over the weekend, got the door off, disconnected electrics and flue on outside but couldn't for the life of me see how to disconnect the gas so I could slide it out without breaking the pipes. The only way I could see of disconnecting the gas supply involved taking...

3 way fridge not lighting on gas

Thanks all, very useful. On/off gas trick doesn't work so that has pretty much convinced me that it needs a clean out. Bilbo, when you say "I whip the fridge out" it sounds easy. Is there anything I need to watch out for? How do I disconnect the gas? Or is it a flexible pipe so once the bo...

3 way fridge not lighting on gas

Hi The 3-way fridge on my '89 Westy has stopped lighting on gas. The ignition isn't 'clicking' to light the gas. It works fine on 12v and 240v. I have tried igniting with the engine running and on hook up in case the supply was too low from the leisure battery to get a spark but still no clicking of...

Veg Oil. HM Customs tell me that they will make it tax free

Hi All Not sure if this is useful but is the environmental measures section from the Budget. It contains details on tax changes on bio-fuels. http://www.hm-treasury.gov.uk/media/73B/74/bud07_chapter7_273.pdf Alternative fuels measures start on page 177 of the budget (which is page 14 of the section ...

camping with a 1 month old baby at bus types yes or no?

Kipper I reckon a 1 month old would be a lot easier than an older kid. As others have said it's the temperature you need to think about (I seem to remember that new borns can't control their body temperature properly until they are a month old). At least he or she isn't going to be kept awake by noi...

VW Mechanics SW8

I've used South London VWs in Croydon for the past couple of years. They are easy to get to from Clapham. http://www.southlondonvws.com/ Very friendly and I've no complaints about their work. I've also had Peter Norris recommended but never used them myself. Dave (in Battersea) PS there was talk abo...

Westy Underfloor LPG Tank

I've got a German Westy import (1989 1.6TD). I bought the simple 'visitors' adaptor because it was cheaper and have found it increadably difficult to fill on the forecourt. Last time I did it I managed to let out so much gas I came over all funny! I'm going away to France soon. Can someone tell me w...

My new camper - and it's old rust!!!

MrDenis I think I am one of those other van's you have spotted in the Brixton area. I'm pretty much in the same situation as you. Bought a '89 Lhd, Westy hi-top about 3 months ago. Haven't owned anything with an engine since I learnt to drive 15 years ago and have learnt everything I know from readi...
