some skodas on ebay between 1992-1998 would these be a good choice noticed some have the dipstick on the wrong side, any advice PLEASE as van is about to die so need something to drive while i sort it out.

Looking on ebay and the skodas seem real cheap. would this be a good choice and what would you advice as the best model and year to go for ?.
i have read alot of previous posts and read the wiki but car`nt find the info i need to give me peace of mind.

i`m going to buy a CHEAP car to drive while i sort the van out, when i`ve done all but the engine i want to take the engine out the car and put it in the van, i want a 1.9 NON TURBO so i can use the sump off the 1.7 NA thats in it at the moment. i know it says a lot on the forum about using golf,pas...

the seams are rusty so i`m going to remove the old sealant try and remove the rust and reseal the joints but o do`nt want it to look like the panells are blended together if that makes sence.

seam finish

sorry if asked before but looked and cud`nt see, read previous posts about rusty seam on vans but wanted to know how to get the best factory look when rejointing the seams.

bled it and checked gearbox oil no bubbles and levels are fine, i`ll try the double de clutching and see what happens.

not realy one to answer but if it`s worrying you get it looked at,pulling to one side could be tracking, worn tyre,low tyre pressure,brakes binding.the oil or is it brake fluid could it be a leaking brake cylinder,grease from lubricating the speedo,some people grease the drum to stop the wheel stick...

hope you all have a great new year,
my gears have just started playing up when i`m changing down from 3rd to 2nd it crunch`s into 2nd, i`ve had the van a few years and it`s just started happening,was hoping someone will be able to offer some advice.
it`s a 4 speed 1.7D

think i will stick to 19D as i`m no speed freak and hopefully it will be cheaper than a turbo.

grease it but didnt work, so took cable off and lubricated it all and it still buzz`s, might look at getting a new inner and outer.
