Re: Still won't run right
I did put a wanted ad in which is where i got the Pierburg from in the first place which has turned out to be shagged. I've just put the Solex back on(see previous posts) and its seems to be running ok, so i seem to have successfully bought 2 knackered carbs.

Re: Still won't run right
problem being i live in Ireland so it costs me £25 to get one sent over each time so i'm not taking any more chances in the hope that its a good carb and i can't afford to have this one rebuilt, so "Balls" to the van it can stay where it is.

Re: Still won't run right
No i've still got it but the vac units gone, the gaskets are all shagged and someones tried to repair with gasket goo and god knows what else is wrong with it so thats why i thought i'd go for the Weber but it looks like i screwed up again, so now i've got 2 carbs that are no use to me and i'm £150 ...

Re: Still won't run right
The choke worked fine but the vacuum unit didn't so it only worked on the primary venturi, i did buy it second hand and it looked like someone had been at it before so i decided to bin it, i assumed the Weber was a much more simple set up.

Still won't run right
OK i've been having running problems which i put down to the carb so i have changed it for a Weber. I fitted the Weber today and it still won't run right. It will tickover for a short while but then then revs go all over the place and it will cut out, it smells rich and the plugs are sooty. I've cha...

Re: running problems
I've stripped and cleaned the carb out again, checked the float, jets etc and its still running the same. I just can't understand it, its running way too rich, it starts up fine, the choke shuts off nicely but its chucking too much fuel in and all the plugs are black and sooty
WHY WHY WHY.

Re: running problems
I did strip the bloody thing before i fitted it and everything seemed fine. i'm running it with a mushroom filter as well because i only had the airbox off the Solex which is different so am i ok just blocking off the other vacuum pipe that goes to the airbox? I wasn't expecting it to run 100% strai...
