Re: Starting problem
Yes wow. It is good to have mates like that. A helicopter engineer mate helped me when I installed the TDI and stripped out everything I didn't need from the golf loom. I had a pile that looked very similar. It took him about 5 minutes of reading the wiring diagram and the pinouts and merrily stripp...

Re: Sliding door won’t lock
I have just had a thought that you might mean the catch isn't catching when you close the door so the door wont stay closed? If that is the case then you need to check that the catch does actually catch and release . I would do this with a large screw driver or something with the door open and see i...

Re: Rock and Roll Seat
I have thought about making these but thankfully this company is already doing it so I can tell you that is a bargain price.

Re: Sliding door won’t lock
The lock just stops the handle from operating the latch. There isn't an extra lock as such. Its the same principle as the front doors. The doors latch when closed and you pull the trigger to release the latch. If the trigger doesn't engage, you cant release the latch.

Re: Upgrading fridge to electric
I have the same one. It was a very simple fit, has more room and an optional freezer, plus it runs quite happily 24/7 from my 90AH leisure battery and a 100w solar panel. I love it. There There are cheaper ones out there but I've seen a few and am of the opinion that the dometic has much nicer build...

Re: What’s missing here?
Really weirdly, for some reason I have an original vw panel which is the inside part of a window van for exactly that place. It has been kicking around the workshop for years. I will check tomorrow to see if I still have it. It may not have the same aperture as your window though but I can send you ...

Re: Dj T3 2.1 gasoline engine problems.
From your description, my best guess is that it sounds like you are losing power to the engine electrics intermittently. I would remove, check, clean and replace all the earths in the engine bay and particularly the earth strap from the body to the gearbox. In fact, I would start with that one. What...

Re: Smokey starts
Thats what I would suggest too. I had the same problem with tricky smokey starts and changed the glow plugs assuming that was the problem but problem persisted. A mate suggested I check the timing and luckily for me, it is a golf engine with OBD so i could check and set it accurately with vcds. It w...

Re: AHU turbo question
Just a quick update: since I woke the actuator up with the compressor, I have full boost wherever I drive and have had no limp mode or fault codes. The camper is a different beast. Those 90 diesel horses ( probably less as I still have no chargecooler) are plenty of beans. I haven't checked top spee...

Re: Jx water pump pulley
I think it might be your pump which is worn and not your pulley. Usually when you buy a new pump you re-use your old pulley. I don't think they wear. The wearing part is the bearing in the pump. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/185078478304 VW part number 037121010C I think that's the one you need for a j...
