Advice on wheel fitting
Hi experts. I'm looking for a bit of confirmation/correction on my plan, which is: Merc SLK wheels 15 x 7J H2 with ET37 205/65R15 tyres to keep the rolling circumference similar Front - 10mm spacers with conversion studs Rear - seem to fit OK with or without 10mm spacers Holes seem OK but not sure a...

Re: Theoretical Question
I drive my LHD one around and rarely notice a difference. The visibility is very good anyway and, being less than swift off the mark, I tend to be careful at junctions. Seems to me there would be better value doing other jobs than this one.

Re: rear door lock hassle
I've had a couple of similar occasions with my tailgate lock. Mine was once central-locking but no longer works. That's not a problem, but the rod that used to operate the central locking was sliding away so the barrel was not in reach of the mechanism. I just made and fitted a spacer so it couldn't...

Re: Drive Shaft Bolts
I found a mixture on my van. A bit shocked the first time I looked and saw two missing and three hanging out!
Now I check 'em every few weeks or before a big trip and I've got a couple of spares in my toolkit.

Westy Cab roof 'spoiler'
Hi,
Has anybody taken off one of these? Mine has some rust on the roof right under the seal so I'll need the spoiler off to sort it out.
Looks like you have to take the cab ceiling down to get at the bolts - any experiences?
cheers
Rob

Re: Fuch Alloys
Hi Roland,
I like the wheels - am I right in thinking they are the 5-112 PCD versions?
How is the van driving with them on?
Also - have you had it lowered? if so, by how much?
Ta!

Re: Rear Window Wiper
That's funny - I thought mine didn't turn off either, but it seems to carry on for a few random sweeps and then stops when I've forgotten about it. I'm guessing that the switch toggles between on and off but doesn't take effect immediately.
Either that or it's knackered!

Re: Westie sink tap
Hi,
The tank's about half-full I reckon, but it has been dry for months. How long did it take yours to stop gurgling?

Westie sink tap
Calling all T3 Westie types...
Now I've got a new battery fitted, the sink tap is working again but its a pathetic dribble with lots of gurgling. Is this what they are always like or have I got a problem? If the latter - any ideas as to cause?
Thanks in advance!
Rob

Re: Bonnet aerial replacement/fitting
New aerial in place now. Unscrewed the binacle instruments but no need to unplug everything. Also took grille and LHS headlamps off to get to bottom side of hole where aerial pokes through. Bit of a fiddle and we needed to file the hole a bit wider to get the new unit through but it fits well and lo...

Bonnet aerial replacement/fitting
Evenin' all.
We had a rubber, flexible aerial on the left hand side (driver's side) of the front panel/bonnet and it is FUBAR so I've bought a new extendable one from Brickwerks. My question is, how do you get behind to fit it - do you have to take the dashboard off or is there a secret?
Thanks

Re: Tailgate lock replacement?
Fixed!
Got the tailgate door card off.
Managed to move the yoke sideways with fingers to open the door.
Once door was in horizontal position, soaked lock barrel with lubricant and worked it all backwards and forwards.
Now seems back to normal.
Phew!

Re: Tailgate lock replacement?
Hi all,
I've already tried the WD40 route but no luck.
We don't have central locking so Glen's suggestion sounds good - I'd like to keep the same key.
Is there any more you can tell me about how to fix the arm? Do I need to get a replacement unit from a scrapper?
Ta

Tailgate lock replacement?
After a month of freezing temperatures, first time I tried to open the tailgate it seems that either the lock or the barrel has broken. The key turns ok but the darn thing remains resolutely locked (suppose it could be worse!) 1- Am I right in thinking I need a new lock? 2- How do you change it when...
