Re: Bodyshop in Nottingham area

Yep.I agree. It's deciding whether i have the confidence to have a go at this roller paint business shown on Wiki or get someone who knows what they're doing to re-spray the van. Hence....my cry for help and support from any T25 owners in Nottingham area! Either way i need support and good counsel.

Bodyshop in Nottingham area

Am desperate to get the van primed (at least),dings, dints etc...straightened out. Can anyone recommend a decent and trusted bodyshop/body repair garage in Nottingham area. Would love a re-spray as well! Failing that.....anyone want to work on my van in exchange for working on their van? Can tell you...

Re: Rat look T25?

Those vintage 80's alloy wheels on that M1........make me dribble. Alot of people hate 'em. That car is a masterpiece! Do you think if i leave my T25 on a dodgy housing estate for long enough it would get a new "paint job" or just lose all 4 wheels? Ha ha ha.

Re: Rat look T25?

I have to say that yellow van with the graffiti all over it looks like a piece of art. Can anyone remember Andy Warhol and other numerous pop artists decorating super cars in the 80's? I seem to recall Andy Warhol working on an 8 series BMW and it looking awesome. I think the Europeans have got alot...

Euro-look yellow head lamps

Have decided to fit some protective film covering for my head lamps by a company called Lamin-x. The film (used in motorsport) fits/sticks easily over headlamps thus giving some protection and looking damn euro-look cool. It is UK legal. This modification seems to be rare and i haven't seen many T25...

Re: Position of registration plate

Love your LT! There are a few dotted around here in Nottingham. Wish some of the VW mags would feature some more LT's.Tired of seeing endless splits and bays. I've seen great modifications on them. Friend has just done some work on an LT called Tortoise with a great sounding diesel engine. Love your...

Position of registration plate

Can i display my front reg plate at the side of the front bumper? What are the legal options on displaying the plate? Think it would look quite good screwed back on one side of the bumper instead of smack in front of the spare wheel.

Re: Thermo mats? Rip off?

What a wonderful array of responses. Think i touched on a nerve with some of you. Who'd have thought a subject as serious and in depth as thermo mats would warrant such comments.
Thanks to those who responded with the DIY approach in mind.

Re: Thermo mats? Rip off?

My answer then remains unanswered. Think i'll try the DIY approach. Damn sight cheaper and satisfying. All the VW specialists i've dealt with so far seem to think that they can take of advantage of enthusiasts with money to burn (which we don't). I'm reminded of vets...similar situation. People love ...

Thermo mats? Rip off?

I had a wander around B&Q today and found some good silver thermal matting at about a £5 a roll. I've seen thermo mats on some VW websites for £70+. Am i being stupid ....... what's the difference? Surely the B&Q stuff is for insulating roofing and would therefore be just as if not better th...

Re: T25 GL back to original colour

Wow! Very impressive.Must have been a superb feeling after the re-spray putting all the exterior parts back on. A feeling that i'm probably not going to feel for a few years yet! It's very much a case of grind down the rust and spray on some primer, and alot of silicone to get it through this weather...

Re: Rat look T25?

As long as it's waxoyled underneath, engine regularly serviced every 6 months, brakes kept good ,tasty good quality tyres and you keep tabs on the usual T25 rust hot spots,a bit of surface rust ain't gonna bother an MOT inspection. If a panel needs replacing simply treat and weld it on......multicolour...
