right - i'll have another look - don't remember seeing a filament - but thats was because the glass/plastic is blue and not very see-through.
So if i did put in an LED and it did burn out - its only the led i'll knacker - not anything else…? happy to try if thats the case

Re: Instrument LEDs - full beam
hmm - what will happen if i do wire it up without the resistor?
There is a resistor on the circuit just before the led/bulb - i remember seeing it before… not got it apart at the moment to confirm exactly what it is. And the bulb/led does look like an led … it has 2 wire legs

Re: Instrument LEDs - full beam
thanks for this info … very helpful.
I'm sure i could cover it with a dab of paint if it was too bright … really anything should do for now to get it through the MOT, I can replace with something more suitable at a later date.

Westfalia door panel
Hi I need to replace the mdf/ply door panel that covers the sliding door on my Westy. Does anyone know of where I can get a replacement? I've seen JK do panels but I'm not sure if they're the same (in terms of fixing holes etc) as the Westy ones - has anyone tried them? Also, the Westy ones have som...

Bike rack for Westfalia tow bar
Does anybody have any experience of using a tow bar mounted bike rack on the standard Westy fitted tow bar?
I need one to carry 4 bikes, i've seen a few brands around … Halfords, Thule, Maxxraxx, Exodus… does anybody have any experience of any of these?
Many thanks

Re: Problems starting - randomly doesnt turn over
Well i've found where it is, i have no ramps or axel stands though and with the limited space i had lying under there i couldnt get one of the wires off - corroded probably so could be part of the problem? think its the live, there seems to be a fairly new looking wire bolted on the end which, assum...

Re: Problems starting - randomly doesnt turn over
mines got worse... took me quite a few turns to get it to turn over today - was a bit worried it wasnt going to!
I'll have a go a cleaning the connectors first... once a work out where the starter motor actually is (yes... bit of a engine novice...! if anyone has a picture....)

A 'clunk' when turning hard or breaking
I appreciate this might be a bit vague.. but any guesses would be welcome on whats causing a big 'clunk' sound, usually when turning hard (slowly) ... or sometimes when breaking and almost stopped. Its coming from the front somewhere - underneath the cab area i think. I can't tell if its coming from...
