Head Lights, Swapping Pre H4 for H4 Lights
Hello,
As the title says, my 1982 van has old pre H4 lights and I would like to fit these. So the question is if I get a set of newer style head lights is it a simple straight swap? And if it is, anyone got some?
Jack

Re: split charge relay with back emf protection
I don't have a VW/factory fitted relay all home made, my van has a Subaru engine in it and it is my understanding that when the contacts open you can get a back emf (electro motive force (Voltage)) down the wire to the alt light wire. This emf can and I belive has damaged my alternator.

Thanks Aidan for getting the bracket to me so quickly.

Jack

Re: How long do these kinda things take???
Unfortunatly how long is a piece of string, are you planning to do the work your self? if not I guess you need to find a good body shop in your area (ask on here for a recomondation) and take it round to be looked at. If your doing it yourself put up some pics if you can.

this is one of the reasons I changed my engine, it never got hot, and would get fumes even thought there was nothing wrong with my heat exchangers!!?? I even put a fan inline to draw more hot air from the back to the front, nothing worked for me, and as I like going to cold places I had to do someth...
