Can anyone tell me where I can get one from please? JK are out of stock & I've searched the internet and put a wanted ad on here with no luck :(

I don't mind if its either just the sender or the whole distributor, its for a 1982 2l Aircooled engine

many thanks in advance for your help :ok

I do not know for sure, but I bet the same one was used on many of the 80's VW cars = breakers yard ?

True, same sensor used in a gazillion '80s motors.

Also see this: linky link, not the same dizzy, (single vac so 1.9WC?), but the same Hall sensor I rather think.

Is it the same then?

Also Karen, Brickwerks have them. They cost a lot more than JK but they are at least genuine Bosch replacements.

According the Brickwerks page I linked to all T3 dizzys have the same Hall sensor with the exception of the 2.1 injection.

So, by that measure, yes - they're all the same. My experiences with distributors various and other fecking about when refitting standard electronic ignition to my van says they're all the same too, (again not 2.1), probably wise to ask seller of dizzy which engine it came from to be quite certain that what I think it is - 1.9 water cooled - is correct.

We had to replace our one of these (2.0 litre air cooled). Bought one originally from JK - it was rubbish and not what I woz after. Bought one from Brickwerks and like others have said it was the genuine oe part - pucka. Bit more expensive but well worth it....

Update on this...we bought a dizzy someone was selling on here; we knew it was the wrong dizzy, however the hall sender unit is the same. After pushing the van up from the lock up (wouldn't start at all) removing our dizzy and replacing the hall sender with the donor one...it started first time! :ok

Fingers crossed that it was the hall sender playing up (the non firing problem has been intermittent) if not then its back to the haynes manual
