We did the same in a VW T2 bay once. Sunk up to the bumpers & the tide was coming in, went like...... ..... ...... ....... .......

Girls went off to dunes to search for branches/twigs/flotsam & we started digging with our hands. Had to build a wall of sand to stop sea flooding hole we were digging, it was that close to disaster!!

We just did it, sand was still falling out of crevices 5000miles later!!

More pics of the Merc... it seems its a tourist attraction. That beach has 90 miles...! It's New Zealand.






There is another beach in England, Burnham-on-sea... it seems the people from that place are tired of people sinking their cars... or maybe not, It's a business!!
