Now sorted but worth a read - DG oil leak from rear

Hi My 1.9 DG always had an oil drip from somewhere near the rear pulley, but today it got much worse and with the motor running it is a very steady drip.

With the motor off it drips enough to create a pool of oil then slowly stops.

The rear engine mounting bar is covered in oil.

It is not from the oil filter.

Looks like it might be the rear pulley seal or very close to it.

Urgent questions ( as it is my daily driver ) =

1 - If it is the rear pulley seal how easy a job is it ?
2 - Any other obvious "stock faults" it might be ?

I am a reasonable home mechanic with standard tool kit, but would be working on the drive way !!

Thanks folks

Steve to the rescue yet again :)

Mind you it turned out not to be the seal !!!

It was leaking from the plastic bit of the high pressure oil switch.

I didn't have the correct switch to hand so fitted a used Ford one I had just as a temporary way of curing it !!

Naturally I didn't wire it up, just earthed the lead so the buzzer would go off.

Now read my post re "Oil pressure switch confusion" :!: :!:
