Hi all,

I have a broken rear spring on my T25 Devon Moonraker the spring has 1x yellow paint dab and 1 x blue paint dab, I have searched the internet and forums but cannot find any information on this combination of paint marks. Has any one got any ideas?. I need another spring but it looks like the only standard height replacements would be a standard duty or a heavy duty pair, so which set would be closest to the springs I have fitted?.

Where abouts are you, and can we presume the van is stock ride height?
Suggest you update your profile with your location - makes it easier for folks to help if they can....
as to your paint marks, Im sure someone will be along very soon to explain all!

Haven't a clue but these bluebird customs appear to be marked with blue and yellow (unless it is reflections ).

Neither of which gives that combination of colours!

The van is stock ride height.

I have already checked these links out and as Oldiebut Goodie said they do not have my combinations of colours.

Oh heck, I just noticed it says = "Rear spring to suit T3 models. Please check colour coding is correct before ordering". on that item, yet only a yellow coded one is listed

Anyway, I would still say fit in pairs.

Plus Brickwerks are very helpful and knowledgeable, so I bet if you ask them which are correct for your van, they will know

Personally if I were to be replacing springs on a camper I would opt for the heavy ones - thinking full weight of water,fuel, units, spares etc.
Those Bluebird Customs ones seem to be the only ones with blue and yellow markings that I can find.

Aye, but ain't your average camper lighter than a fully loaded builders panel van (perhaps).

Thinking about it don't know what the load capacity of your average T3 is...
Off to find out.

But are the blues or the yellows "heavier"...? A sprogbus or camper might be heavier empty than a van, but a van's probably more likely to be run near the GVW. Isn't it?

I have fitted some standard duty springs and they are not as stiff as the originals, softer ride and more body roll. I have got used to it now.

From the factory generally vans have yellow/white or yellow/green, I think the difference is petrol, diesel but never really took much notice as all that Vw list is blue or yellow.
If you have yellow/white or yellow/green and they fail you would replace them with plain yellow.
Passenger carrying t3 had blue coded rear springs so things like westys and caravelles, multivans etc.

So, stuff badged as transporters, panel vans and pick ups, which would include vans that are converted to camper in this country would have yellow.

But, to be fair I don't think you would tell the difference between blue and yellow.
