What is the Gear Remote Bush.

Hi

Very new to the VW scene and have just purchased a fantastic 1989 T25 Caravelle Reimo Conversion with 2.1 petrol Engine, Lpg Conversion with the 5 speed Gearbox.
As its my Daily drive I thought I would book it in for a full service and check over at my Local Garage in Ashmore Park Wolverhampton. (Not A VW Specialist).
Any way turns out there is barley anything wrong with it and is solid as the day it came out the factory.
Whilst it was in I got them to look at the sloppy gearchange especially between 2 and 3rd. They have told me that the reason for the poor gear changes is the Gear Remote Bush is worn out, which I can understand does happen as they are made of nylon.
My question what is the Gear Remote Bush and where is it located?
Having looked at in the Haynes and other sites including the WIKI here, it appears that there are at least 3 or 4 bushes. Can anyone help, want to keep the van tip top and intend to replace parts that need replacing.
Also any one in the Wolverhampton area know of a good garage that are VW T25 experts.

Cheers
Dan

Probably the cup and ball selector at the gearbox to be honest until you have refurbed all the selection rod and gearstick you wont know for sure as the error in worn joints is cumulative.
