Best watercooled 1.9 early type exhaust

Hello I have been looking for a new exhaust for my 1.9 water cooled van. Its early 1985 so it has the early style exhaust system.
I'm looking to get a stainless one(or anything decent) if possible and have searched around on here and the rest of the web but am a bit confused.
Most of the stainless exhausts I have seen are the later versions with the bigger silencers, does anyone know if these are suitable for my type of system?
I did fond this one from the wiki
http://www.vwspeedshop.com/product.php? ... t=0&page=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Does anyone have this exhaust fitted onto an early type water cooled van and if so is it any good?
Sorry if this has been answered before...I couldnt find any answers to my concerns and its always good to get first hand knowledge rather than rely on what the dealers say
Thanks for looking!

Are you sure you have searched?
You want to know about the VW speedshop exhaust so it may be a good idea to search for vw speedshop where you would see fairwynds fitted a speedshop exhaust
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... 5#p7537843" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or even current exhaust options
https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.p ... s#p7538243" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also you should have come across this in the wiki if you scoured it (read from Stainless Systems & Where To Buy Them)
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Exhausts_Suppliers" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Brickwerks did send off a standard early system to get it replicated in stainless but that was way back in October last year. You could ask the question regarded the status of this on the brickwerks facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Brick ... 31?sk=wall" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Basically your options are
1) Standard GSF or JK mild steel
2) VW speedshop exhaust
3) Upgrade your engine carrier bracket to the later version (good time to renew the engine mounts) and get the later exhaust fitted from JP or Brickwerks.
I did option 3 but I suspect in your case option 2 looks like the one

No idea on the guarantee that's why I went down the late system route

Not SS but I got a very nice quality (German, cannot remember the make) early system (complete) from Euro Car Parts. I got a full fitting kit with it, all the nuts, bolts and gaskets = pretty essential.
That was 4 years ago and it is showing no signs of failing at this time.
They have branches in most major towns and the price was very good

Thanks for the responses
I received an e-mail from VW speedshop today, telling me that the guarantee lasts for as long as I own the vehicle, it comes with all bolts and gaskets and the silencer bolts to the header(not sure what this means).
Think I'm gonna go with this one as its the best one I've seen for my model and the feedback from people on here that have them seems fairly good
Thanks again for all the help...I'll let you know how it goes

Mines I think is the early one, it has a odd shaped almost oval silencer with nothing holding it up.
The exhaust on vw speed shop fits both, has a lifetime guarantee, is a bit more within my price range and is available now and I need one like yesterday!
