Good thing you got a hold of that rust when you did! All that moisture getting in through the holes could have turned your floor to mush in not time. If you want something waterproof to coat your floor with you could go the por-15. It's what Í've done my whole floor with. Don't use it on the outside of your car though as rocks will just chip it off and isn't exactly the cheapest paint around

Yep prevention being a lot better than cure.

Can't seem to source por 15 over here so went with plant and machinery paint over the zinc primer should be good for another while the amountvof mud bothered me though.

thinking of having a lift out floor section held in by a few screws that can be taken out without removing the furniture enabling an annual wash. As a lot of time has been spent in mud and can't see it changing that much.

Seems to be a problem with wading in muddy water, makes me wonder on the lifespan of some of these vans. It's amazing how much mud you can collect. I've just fitted spacer at the rear, and managed to collect half a bucket of muck from around that area alone

You can use a Wurth product instead of POR 15 - I
think it's the Chassis Black product??? It's comes in a tin very much like the POR 15, and seems to stick to EVERYTHING in a similar fashion - I never had any issues with it anyway

Emptied mine out when I got the van but never got to lift the floor have noticed mud in there since so out with the bits of wire and jet washer again then a good dry and lots more waxoyl or dinitrol again it never ends. But a good time of year to tackle it and for 20 years not too much rust
