hey,
I was just looking online how to change an oil filter on my van and it says I need to fill the filter with something called Quantum 15-40 from GSF...I have absolutely no idea what this is, can someone fill me in? or fill my filter in for me, and maybe do the whole thing for me? +D
cheers!!
James.

Fill your filter up with the oil you are using in the engine.
Make sure you put the correct amount in the engine (in total).

Could you put that in your profile then please, in the Location field - thanks...
Always a good idea to fill the filter up as much as poss before fitting it. Up to the point where the installation angle means it will spill out before you get it screwed back on properly (hand tight, but dry not oily slippy hand tight!) - so fill a horiz mounted one about 1/2 full, the diesels you can almost fill right up. Lube the big 'O' ring both faces

Im not too sure about vw engines but its always a good idea to lube the o-ring before you put the filter on it makes it easier to get the filter off when you come to chane it again

Not just so can get back off, but to make sure it tightens by hand properly and doesn't leak - all engines I think.
