Hi all as some of you may be aware i have had intermittent stalling probs....Grrr after loads of bits changed re-newed im opting to replace the solenoid (even thou it does make an audioable clicking when disconnecting and connecting with ignition on).

I have had a quote from Gower and Lee for £36 but am uncertain as to the quality of their parts.... hence this post, please please please throw a suggestion or two my way.... As iv checked jk'S Brickwerks and Heritage and am still unsure if they are selling the right one for the Pierburg 2E3 carb i have or in the case of the later two whether they stock them or not????

Thanks in advance

Hello,

Unscrew the thing, flat spanner, and pull it off.

the valvy bit should be sticking out

reconnect the lead

Touch to earth and turn on ignition.

It clicks and moves in , gets shorter by say, 8mm.

If this happens its ok

Save money.

Cordialement,

Hi thanks for the reply,

I took the valve off completely and there was nothing protruding from the end ???? i did reconnect and anchor to earth and it clicked however the movement was more like 3mm.
There are holes at the end on the sides which block with no current going threw but live current going threw it retracts and clears the holes but only by about 3mm.
Hope this is clear enough for you to beable to follow!

Hi Daz much appreciated for the offer but please dont go rumaging on my account because i have been playing with the wirering this morning and believe i have sorted the problem....

The wirering off the dizzy wasloose where it clips on since sorting this the old girl hasnt stalled ...
So after months of replacing Choke pull down units, spark plugs, fuel filters, vacum hoses, manifold gasket and checking solenoids and still believing the solenoid may be faulty (on its way out) it may appear that it was a loose connection (fingers X'd)

Thank you for the advise and help guys
