hi all
sorry this is a bit of a repost but my question has changed and since it's now at the bottom of the post noone seems to be answering.
I'm considering getting some old merc wheels-
7.5x17 fronts et 37
8.5x17 rears et 34
anyone have experience of this sort of setup? my slight concern is that the table here http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/forum/wheel ... 13832.html seems to say the front one may be a problem - is 7.5 a bit wide or has anyone else used it? also, at the rear 8.5 isn't going to interfere with the sliding door is it?
The other option I have is some new wheels which are 7 x 17 but they're an offset of 25 which isn't perfect! Trying to make a final decison and just go with one!
Thanks for any advice,
Jane.

Go for the merc wheels, they will be spot on in my experience, the rears shouldn't skag the slider either, i am now running porsche wheels which are 7.5 up front and 9 at the rear, have had to do loads of mods to get them on there, but they do look sweet, before that i had amg merc wheels they were bang on with no spacers, adaptors or clearence issues

Should be okay, may need 5 or 6mm spacers at the front to clear the suspension.
Rear should be bob on, again 5 or 6mm shims if they are close to the body or the trailing arm.
Obviously you'll need longer rear studs, and longer bolts up front.

nope.. direct fit front and rear..
fronts clear the top joint fine, rears sit spot on and vairous tyre sizes could be used
225 50 fronts
255 45 rears would be spot on.
