Now we have some cash looking at replacing old one ites been patched up a few times.
We have been looking at two in jks. One is a single quietpack it states that the rear
valance may need ajusting.
Just wondering if anyone has fitted one and if they had any problems, did you have to
adjust anything to fit it.
any advise would be welcomed.

Yes, it may well need cutting/grinding to accommodate a quiet pack but you need to be aware that the iife span of a quiet pack isn't long at all - I'm sure they're made of old baked bean tins. This was why I ditched the can and fitted a stainless bike one. Look under exhausts in WIKI (custom I think) which shows you how. Chances are with an 82 it will fit yours fine and around £80 all in.

Fitted quiet packs to numerous bugs and they just don't last. Not sure if they'd last longer if dipped in something but that seems a sledgehammer to crack a nut then. The header pipes last a few years but the cans are pretty crappy. Bike cans, if you get a good un, last a lot longer and are way cheaper. You also have an incredible choice from stainless to carbon types on the second-hand market - mine was just £20. Most seem to really like the sound of mine.
