HI,

does anyone know where to get the special tools needed to change the camblet on a ky/jx/ra diesel engine.

vw2065 cam lock plate and vw2064 disel pump lock pin?

asked in my local motor factors, they mutterd VAG but they cost big $$$ surely theres a cheaper option somewhere?

cheers

Louey's got one, JimmyT's got one and Simon Baxter can do this job for you too at the Brickyard..

Can buy one fairly cheaply (apparently)

I made my own, suitable sized metal bar that sits in the slot at the end of the camshaft...ground it a bit for a snug fit. From memory I just jammed a socket extension in the diesel pump to stop it moving out of synch.

Sounds a bit mickey mouse but worked a treat, good luck Keith.
