towbar wireing

have a westfalia towbar to fit . but not sure about the wireing . i have to lots coming from the plug
.a red brown and green . then out of next one is yello blue white black and gray .
had a look on wiki but cant find eny info . can some one help . thanks

thanks for that . i have printed it of .but i have got a gray wire so that makes eight .do i not have to use it .

Never seen an 8 pin towbar socket myself
There's the 2 types of UK ones 12N (black usually) for standart trailers etc, which can be combined with the 12S (often a grey plug) for caravans needing additional power for fridges and batteries in them etc, and the 13 pin Euro socket which is basically both of the uk ones rolled into one. Generally the multi core cable comes in either 7 cored (black or grey) and 13 cored with a standard set of coloured core insulation.
Have a hunt round the site in the link I gave you or have a look at towsure, for a few more clues. Good luck.

mine is a black plug looks like it comes with the tow bar .thanks for your help gives

Eight wire socket is one that cuts the tow vehicles rear fog lamp when a trailer is connected. Probably the grey wire goes back to the fog lamp from the socket.
