my sisters boyfriend in barcelona has been picking my brains for years with regards to buying a syncro after enjoying a ride in mine.
i have had dozens of emails with photos and links with all the usual suspects involved. finally he has bought a rather splendid ex army ambulance from estonia. he is having it shipped to bernd jaegers in germany for a good servicing. his mum lives 70k from bernds place handily.
AND I AM JUST SO EXCITED!
i thought you lot might want to see some pictures...

I love the camouflage look on these vans and that looks in great nick.

Here's Syncrosimon's 16" I towed back from Belgium which was originally the same paint scheme.

I think the camo also hides that huge hi-top too!

The radio vans certainly came with twin alternators but not sure about the ambulances. If its got twin alternators there is usually a pic to show it as its unusual now.

most our landys have a second alternator but the air con/auxillary heater all run from the engine

For those into camouflage have a look at these examples of Dazzle Camouflage......http://images.google.co.uk/images?hl=en ... CA8QsAQwAA" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

some more pics to answer some questions.
it doesnt look like it has a second alternator but it does have an eberspacher by the looks of things. i dont think it has done too many miles and the condition of the engine speaks volumes.
i think the bulkhead will come out and jan is looking for a good westy interior.
the only obvious damage is around the bottom wheel carrier mount. i suspect it was backed a bit close to a wall or something.
some BFG's wouldnt harm the aesthetics i dont think.
i think its going to be a beauty.

I love them, congratulations.

The colour was the hardest decision, still may go back to the camo pattern, my boys would love that.
The artic syncro's seem to be the most rust free. I dont think you get rust below freezing!
