Sump plug

I cant shift it with my socket set or ring spanners. Is it supposed to be so tight? Im afraid I'll damage it by trying to undo it.

Its not supposed to be that tight! liable to crack the sump if its done up too tight, could be someones gashed the threads?

get engine up to norm temp first.......

So when warm I shouldn't need a 3 foot scaffold pole to do it and it should be pretty much like any other sump plug that I can undo with a ring spanner?

you dont say what engine, but wbx is steel plug in ally sump, and is normal to be too tight when cold........
you cant change oil when cold anyway...........

or finger tight plus a 1/2 turn with a spanner - should be enough if you fit a new copper seal ring, as you should

My engine is 1.6Td JX. Is that steel plug as you mentioned requiring the copper washer.

no sure TBH, i dont "do" diesels, but you have two sump plugs dont you? one at the end and one in the middle? or is that just the KY?
either way cold is not good!

I was refering to the single plug you can see through a hole they made in the tin. I presumed that was it?
