And added up how much I have spent on Parts and specialist labour on my Multivan !!
I shouldn't have done that.
To get all the bits and pieces together to fit on the van I have spent over 1400 Euro alone
ON SHIPPING !!!!!

When Dave comes down to my house and we park the two Syncros together your looking at €50,000 plus.
Sadness personified

If I didn't do what i do, there is no way I could afford to have a T3.
I cringe when some people get their bill!

Not as much as them, I bet
Perhaps, if you're wise, you sometimes cower (behind something)

I reckon I must have paid the lease on Syncronutz building for at least a year or two. I got the TDI conversion then had to sell the bus not even a year later. Now I have the VR6 Beast that is better as a family camper but the Red Tdi van was better in some many other ways. This one will be good once I sort out
1. The grill to cover the oil cooler. Oddly placed behind the bash plate. I think because it was too big for the usual spot in front of the radiator.
2. Put a bash plate under the engine cause it doesn't have one.
3. Sort out the front suspension. It just isn't as good as the old Red van
4. Sort out the diff locks - they no work.
Don't want to work out what I've spent.

I'm probably going to jinx it now by saying so ...but so far I've needed: new clutch, refurb VC and one CV joint ...not too bad
New injectors and pipes are next on the list (preventative)
beautification (leather seats and different steering wheel) came in at 100 Euro
run and service a more modern car stuffed with wonky electronics for 2.5 years and the bill would be at least as high

If space is at a premium you could consider this.
http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p3668 ... _info.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Equal to a 25 row, which I have, and happily sits in behind the lower grill.
I think that syncro ownership is as much about the modification, repair, refurbishment as bout the using. I seem to spend equal amounts of time on each!!
