Pierburg 2E3 carb conversion - Weber 34DAT

Hi everyone - I am new to the forum and have a problem with a carb conversion. Have switched from a Pierburg 2E3 to a Weber 34DAT from Just Kampers. All works well except the choke. On cold start when the accelerator is pressed the choke engages and the engine starts everytime revving nicely, but as soon as I press the accelerator again, to drive off, the choke seems to disengage and the revs drop very low, almost stalling. When engine up to temperature all is well. Engine is 1.9 watercooled DG, 1990. Any ideas anyone :(

Leave it to idle on choke for longer before you set off. Seriously though, is the idle set a bit low for when tis warmed up, around 900rpm? If a bit low it may want to die off choke when cold, perhaps you can alter the length of time before choke cuts out? I'm aure there will be some web info on setting her up? Good luck. NB What have you done with the pierburg?

cheers

Tim

Re-adjust the choke so it stays on longer. Sounds like just a small amound of heat is taking the choke off too soon. Loosen 3 small screws on choke body and rotate to adjust. Rotate in directon of choke movement when it's closing.

Mixed bag of results....
Most have had issues when using them.. like worse fuel economy and no better running.. several have had to get them set up on a rolling road to make them work properly too..
They dont seem to give any better performance either...

A well serviced, setup and working 2E3 works very well indeed... a bodged dirty and broken one is carp...
